Hidden behind fear are the stories that have never been
told; the accounts that have made us who we are today. The little that we know
is but an assumption of how we came to be the present generation. If only our
voices could be heard through the treacherous opinion of the unchanging world.
Only then would we truly understand ourselves.
Certainly the truth is existent. If we were to open our eyes
and face the challenge of accepting the truth – the bitter truth – we would be changed
immensely. But what is most difficult is not merely accepting the truth but
living it; a reality that only the strongest at heart can survive. Indeed we
must start somewhere but the real question is where exactly?
Silence will not always be golden. And true to this we must
learn to practise our
right to be heard. No longer should we be afraid to stand for what we believe
in. This is a time when our proclamations have meaning. This is a time when we
shall no longer be restricted to the beliefs of others because we understand
that each unique individual makes up the human race.
Silence has had her voice and for too long has
it been concealed. But now is the time for all of the untold stories to be
disclosed. The stories that are meant to express the diverse cultures of the
world and convey our pride in who we are; chronicles of who we once were and
the reasons behind outbursts of change throughout civilization.
Mistakes will be made. Stories are but a way of communicating
the ordeals that are but the outcomes of these errors. Even from the shortest
of accounts we can learn how not to repeat history. In doing so we are carving
out a different destiny for ourselves but still not relying on our own
understanding but the truth itself.
In more ways than we really know the truth will never change
but the world itself will only adjust to what exists if we allow for our voices
to be heard and listen for those of others.
