Do you remember the first time you realised the beauty of nature? When the thought that there was something much more beautiful than 'the world inside' hit you? I do. And it changed my life! For the first time ever, I didn't want to see the outside world through a window. Instead, I wanted to be a part of it. A part of something bigger than myself -- I wanted to be a part of the world. And this is when I learnt that the world not only needs us, but we need it too.
Reminiscing back to that moment I can now say that there had always been that connection to the world that I always had. Deep inside I was an explorer. I had an ambition to know more than what met the eye. I needed to know 'why?' and 'how?' Was I not entitled to know? There was always a question running through my mind because there was need to know the reason to everything. Unfortunately, in the end this led to me opening my eyes to far more than I ever could have wanted or even needed.
I got answers to the questions that I did not ask! And I could not be more heartbroken. The beauty of the world was fading away. This was a fact. As a child, I saw no evil but day by day, my perceptions of this world became clearer and clearer. The world that was once green and filled with colour now grew dimmer and duller at the hands of mankind. But I was not the only one who saw the world in this manner. It dawned on me that the rest of humanity perceived the world in this way and very few were willing to admit the truth.
Nature calls unto us but it takes much more than we choose to hear to discern her plea. Only our actions can change what we have done to this world. Only we have the power to return Mother Nature to her former glory. Without doubt, the modern age is unlike any other time. The only way to make change is collectively. The world is no longer about the needs of one man but the necessities of the human race. If it is possible, then certainly, we must make history. Let us change this world for the better. Should we not embrace the beauty of nature?
Nature has no loudspeaker nor does she have a voice but yet she is heard by the few who choose to listen. The power of our own voices is unbelievable. If enough of us stood up for what we believe in, nature would have a voice and it would be on loudspeaker. This is the time. This is the only time. I stand for nature. Do you?
If you're up for it: let's Give Nature A Voice!
